What exactly is an eSIM?
A SIM card built into your phone. Instead of inserting plastic, you scan a QR code and a travel data plan installs alongside your normal SIM. Your number and contacts don't change — you're just adding a second, prepaid data line.
Will my phone support it?
Most phones from 2019 onward do: iPhone XS or newer, Samsung S20+, Pixel 4+, and many more. Dial *#06# — if an EID number shows, you're set. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked. See our device compatibility page for the full list.
When does my plan start counting?
At first network connection in your destination — never at purchase or install. Buy and install at home; the clock only starts when you land and the eSIM touches a local network.
Can I make calls and send texts?
Our plans are data-only, which is what modern travel runs on: WhatsApp, FaceTime and Messenger calls all work over data. Your home SIM stays active for regular calls and SMS if you need them.
Can I share the data with my laptop?
Yes — hotspot/tethering is allowed on all plans and shares the plan's data allowance.
What if I use up my data mid-trip?
Buy another plan in a minute — same flow, new QR. From your account you can re-order your previous plan with two taps.
What does “unlimited” actually mean?
Unlimited plans carry a fair-use policy: full speed up to a daily high-speed allowance, reduced speed after, plus a total high-speed ceiling. Both numbers are printed on the plan card and at checkout — no surprises.
